Little Meteorologist
Children frequently fear thunderstorms but enjoy splashing in puddles and seeing rainbows once thestorm has passed. Making weather observations and talking about climate are excellent ways to teachour KG learners about science, especially since the weather is something they can easily relate to andcomprehend. The weather and climate impact children’s lives daily, whether sunny and clear outside orwindy and rainy.
It is vital to engage our learners by giving them a dramatic role as weather forecasters to give them asense of awareness of the weather every day because the climate is constantly changing and can bemeasured and observed by people of all ages. Providing children with weather information also allowsus to talk with our learners about the importance of being on alert when there’s a chance of bad weatherand knowing what to do if a severe storm or natural disaster occurs.
Here’s our little meteorologist in KG reporting the weather for today.
