Career goals play an important role to attain a job role, especially for the young who are yet to pursue their dreams. Baking can tap into a child’s motivation and promote the development of learning, play, motor skills and social skills. Not to mention, the fantastic opportunities children have when learning skills that are applicable to real life.
Students develop confidence and attention to detail over time. By following recipes as a team, children learn the importance of following directions and being aware of those around them. When a child successfully completes a recipe, they will feel a sense of pride, confidence, and a boost to their self-esteem.
Learning the basic skill of baking that can be used for the rest of a child’s life is perhaps the most obvious skill gained. By giving our young learners the chance to engage in meaningful work, not simply made up tasks or challenges, we are showing them how capable, strong and productive they can be.
