    Your Guide to Admissions 2025–2026: Everything You Need to Know

    Age Guidelines

    The minimum age limit for admission is as follows in the year of admission, regardless of when they join.

    • KG1 – should have completed three years and two months by September 1st
    • KG2 – should have completed four years and two months by September 1st
    • Grade 1 – should have completed five years and two months by September 1st

    Admission Test

    • All prospective students will be required to take an entry-level test in English, Math, Science, and Arabic, while Early Years students will undergo an interview as part of the entrance assessment process.
    • Admission to our school is based on the result of the test and interview.
    • Parents will be informed of the status of their application by phone within 24 hours from the time of the assessment.
    • In instances where there are more eligible applicants than available spots for a specific grade level, students may be placed on a waiting list until a space is freed up. The school will periodically contact waitlisted parents to update their status and confirm continued interest.

    Admission Process

    At Modern Generation International School (MGIS), we aim to make the admission process smooth, transparent, and aligned with the Ministry of Education (MOE) guidelines in Oman.

    Admission Confirmation

    • Parents will receive an SMS notification regarding the admission test results.
    • Results can be accessed via the MGIS e-school system.
    • For accepted students, parents must complete the online admission form and upload the required documents.

    Required Documents for Admission

    To complete admission at MGIS, parents must submit the following:

    • Student’s birth certificate (in Arabic or English)
    • National ID card or Resident Card
    • Vaccination and medical records (for Grade 1)
    • Latest school report and transfer/leaving certificate (for Grade 1 and above)
    • Passport size photographs – 1no.

    Additional documents if applicable:

    • Special education or learning support reports
    • Reports from therapists, psychologists, or previous schools
    • Proof of address (utility bill or rental contract for transport purposes)

    For international students the following are also required:

    • Passport and visa copies (student and parents)
    • No Objection Certificate (NOC) from sponsor (for expatriate students)
    • Certified academic transcripts from the previous academic year, attested by the Omani Embassy and the issuing country’s Foreign Ministry
    • Translated transcripts (Arabic or English), certified by Oman’s Foreign Ministry

    Equalization certificate from the Ministry of Education

    • Arab qualifications are equalized electronically through the governorates’ Educational Measurement and Evaluation departments.
    • Foreign qualifications are equalized by the Ministry’s Academic Qualifications Department (Equivalency and Recognition Section).
    • Students from community schools (e.g., Egyptian, Indian, Pakistani) must attach their last academic certificate certified by the Ministry’s Office of International Schools/Communities.

    Document Verification

    After admission confirmation, parents must visit the school with the student and original documents within 5 working days of submitting the application.
